Wow, considering I did this all by hand I think I really nailed the consistency of the lettering. This took a lot of concentration and a steady hand! Fancy Fancy. These boards can be seen at several bars of the Las Vegas Strip at restaurants and lounges including STACK and Brand Steakhouse. If you need chalkboard art done feel free to contact me with inquiries or questions.

Hello World! The first picture is of the rough draft/ progress shot of a chalkboard art project I am working on for a few high end restaurants here in Las Vegas. The second is a painting I did to add to a series of paintings I am working on based off of some photos I took on my Pismo Beach vacation. Enjoy!

I finally rounded the corner on the progress level of my casino gaming piece for my demo reel. Back on track and stress relieved! Now that I came up with a quick way of attacking these kinds of projects I will be doing a lot more. Its pretty fun stuff.

I made this to test my sync and see what the final render will look like. I'm currently brainstorming a basic environment to put the character in.

So it looks like this job is done pending client approval. I want to thank Luis Moreno luismorenoart.com for including me on the project, it was lots of fun working together. In total, I probably put 30-40 hours into this project. These panals are going to be fit around an above ground pool. It is very satisfying seeing all of the work together instead of panel by panel. There was a lot of research and planning involved in this project but with some creative ideas we were able to make it look easy. I am looking forward to doing more murals like this! The amount of painting experience gained from this project is priceless.

Ok. After coming to the realization that the last business cards I posted are trash, the gears began to spin. I had an epiphany one night last week to use this painted texture I made in Corel as a background for my card. My goal was to keep in the theme of the colors on my website, but also make it clear that I am an animator and designer. I tried to use my color theory to push the text into a realm of semi-3D. After I decided on using Infomatic as a brand tool, I made the choice to run with those colors to go on top of the bg for consistency. I think I might have scored on this one. I still have some composition issues and I might swap the fonts for something a little more custom, but I think I may be on to something here...

Next are a couple of business card ideas I am developing for my marketing package. I am going to make several versions and decide that way because I am a strong believer in the idea that you must get rid of the bad ideas in the head before a good one will rise to the surface. There is sooo much work to get ready for graduation, but it is nice to see a culmination of my education as I go through all the hoops and hurdles.

Watch out now! I have been a busy bee lately. I decided on a new song for my portfolio. It is by the Afro Cuban Jazz artist named Omar Sosa. The song is called La Tra off the album Mulatos. I decided to make a new intro for my demo reel that is shorter and synced up to the music. I'm liking the colors and the feel so far; however, I am still going to brighten it up a bit and play with some effects a little.
This week I also started a new animation that is a mix between two of my former options for my demo reel that weren't quite working. I hope that the fusion between the two will make something special ;) I took the rig and personality of my boom box animation and put it into the scene for my box lift animation. I think that with my fresh understanding of animation and a clean canvas will benefit me if I can get it done amongst the other projects I'm working on.
Also this week I was able to make it to the life drawing workshop at AILV for medium length pose day. The model was pretty good and I was in a good place that day so I think I did pretty well and definately got in some good practice.
